7/8th Graders - Classes 1 and 4 did a variety of games and activities to emphasize desire, time, and effort. Classes 2 and 3 did an activity to climb out of a maze. They were looking at activities that their friends may ask them to do that are not healthy and how to say no.

6th Graders - The students worked on bullying and wrote skits.

Special Notice to 7/8th Graders for Next Week

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Your child’s school health class will be presenting depression awareness and suicide prevention education. This curriculum will be presented in your child’s health class as part of the mental health unit.

The curriculum that your child will receive provides information about signs and symptoms of depression and suicide and ways students can help themselves or a friend who is in crisis. Teachers and students will also discuss available resources for help at school and in their local community.
7/8th Graders- The students are studying about ways to handle stress. Tomorrow we will be doing a short relaxation activity. The students can bring a blanket or towel to lay on.

6th Graders- The students are studying personal hygiene.

6th Graders- The students drew their health triangle. The students read a section in the book on the growing adolescent.

7/8 Graders- The students filled out their strengths and weaknesses for their own physical, social, emotional health. They drew a health triangle to show their strengths. Then they made a chain of five of their strengths and the whole class connected the chain to string it around the room.
